Activities & Entertainment at Brooklands
At Brooklands, we’re proud to have both full-time and part-time Activity Coordinators who are passionate about creating a vibrant and inclusive environment for everyone. They understand how important it is to offer a wide range of engaging activities to suit the diverse interests, tastes, and needs of all our residents.
Whether it’s gardening, painting, or crafting, there’s always something for those who enjoy being creative or spending time outdoors. For those with a sense of adventure, we organise regular outings to beautiful local beaches, historic castles, and exciting themed attractions—ensuring there’s always something to look forward to.
Our Activity Coordinators go the extra mile to support residents in continuing their personal hobbies and pastimes, recognising how valuable these interests are in nurturing overall wellbeing and happiness.
Brooklands also hosts a lively and varied entertainment programme. Talented musicians and singers regularly perform at the Home, and dancing is warmly encouraged—it’s a joy shared by residents and staff alike! We’re also pleased to welcome monthly visits from the local church for those who wish to practice their faith, and we occasionally host school choirs and community groups who bring even more joy and connection into our Home.
Not forgetting our much-loved pet therapy sessions—where residents can enjoy the companionship of well-trained therapy animals. We’ve welcomed everything from friendly dogs to alpacas, sheep, and even the occasional donkey! These visits always bring smiles, spark conversations, and create truly memorable moments for everyone.
We also understand the value of smaller, more intimate group activities, and strive to offer these regularly, ensuring that everyone can find something they truly enjoy in a way that feels comfortable and personal.
At Brooklands, there’s always something happening—and always a reason to smile.
Spiritual Well-being
At Brooklands great care is taken to offer those with faith in all religions to be enabled to continue to practise as they wish. A Church service is held on the first Friday of every month. The local Catholic Priest makes regular visits and representatives of all faiths and denominations are welcome to attend in order to give respectful provision to all who reside at the Home.
